Meet Dr. Rolanda Anderson

My journey began during my doctoral program, when classmates kept asking me for help understanding assignments, organizing their ideas, and making sense of dissertation expectations. What started as helping classmates became a deeper purpose.

I became a Dissertation Chair, and for more than fifteen years I guided doctoral students through proposal development, alignment, methodology, and dissertation defense preparation. I read the chapters. I wrote the feedback notes. I sat in the defenses and asked the questions.

Here is what all those years on the approving side of the table taught me: doctoral students do not fail because they lack talent. They fail because nobody ever showed them what the committee is actually checking. Students do not need more vague feedback. They need clear direction, structure, guided instruction, help understanding what belongs in each section, and support connecting one sentence to the next.

That is why I built Dissertation Gurus. Every packet, every course, and every coaching session comes from the same place: the chair's side of the table, translated into steps you can actually follow. I work with students in both PhD and Ed.D. programs.
